The Hand Up Network welcomes the East Texas Crisis Center as a new Network Partner.  The work done by the Crisis Center Team is life-saving and we are honored to be able to come alongside and support each other in our efforts to change the lives of those going through a tough season in life!  We don’t just partner with anyone, but define our relationship in writing to ensure that each organization has a clear understanding of how we operate and work together to help those we serve!

The EAST TEXAS CRISIS CENTER is dedicated to providing safety, shelter, and education for victims of family violence, sexual assault, and other violent crime. Commitment to restoring dignity and purpose in the lives of victims and promoting public compassion and awareness in order to reduce violence in our community.  From small beginnings as an all-volunteer agency, incorporated in 1978 as the Smith County Citizens Against Rape, the East Texas Crisis Center has become a haven for thousands of victims of family violence, sexual assault and violent crime. Within the core services to victims in five counties, programs are reaching underserved populations in rural areas as well as racial and Spanish-speaking minorities. Programs emphasize both prevention and intervention. Resale store operations provide clothing, household goods and furniture at no cost to families in extreme need. Sales to the public are an ancillary funding source for Crisis Center programs.
