The Hand Up Network announces defined partnership with CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN OF SMITH COUNTY.
CHAMPIONS FOR CHILDREN – SMITH COUNTY – In Smith County alone, approximately 8,000 children spend an average of 36 hours a week in some type of childcare arrangement. Studies have repeatedly shown that high-quality childcare – care that provides a loving, safe, stable and age-appropriate stimulating environment – helps children enter school ready to learn. Yet, many children enter school already behind, and once behind, very few catch up.
Since 1996, Champions’, a 501(c)(3), has been the motivating force behind a coordinated community effort to design and implement progressive programs to help at-risk children, parents and childcare providers. From professional teacher trainings and educational materials to individual interventions, Champions’ provides teachers and parents with the tools, training and support they need to insure that their children have every opportunity at success.
HAND UP NETWORK™ is a 501c3 non-profit based in Tyler, TX that has assembled an international team of leaders with decades of experience with a desire to come back home and bring focus to those in need in local communities. The Network offers long-term programs to people seeking a new season in life and response teams designed to address community issues and emergency response. The Network provides intentional volunteer opportunities for people wanting to provide support within their programs and opportunities to engage via Response Teams.
