Mariah Abernathy is a native East Texan that has come home to help make a difference in her own community.  She has a passion for victims of crime and has decided to make it her life’s work.

A proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mariah has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a Minor in Communications.  She has chosen to continue her education by pursuing a masters degree in Counseling and Mental Health at The University of Texas at Tyler. 

Upon graduating with her masters, Mariah intends to continue her work with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.

Mariah is a certified Victims Advocate through the Texas Department of Criminal Justice’s Victim Advocate Training (TVAT).
