The synergies of the two organizations are geared towards providing those going through a tough season in life an opportunity to change and make an impact on our community. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF EAST TEXAS: It is the mission of Goodwill Industries of East Texas, Inc. to provide skills training and vocational opportunities for people with barriers to employment. Most people know about Goodwill Industries through shopping or donating to our thrift stores. But more importantly, Goodwill uses the revenue from these stores to provide training, counseling, services and community employment to those with some type of barrier such as a disability or a background of disadvantage. Your donations and shopping at Goodwill stores truly change lives through these services! Through Goodwill, these individuals, their families and other members of our community gain self esteem and become independent, self-sufficient citizens. They feel proud to have gained work skills and subsequently a paycheck which allows them to contribute to their own well being.
HAND UP NETWORK™ is a 501c3 non-profit based in Tyler, TX that has assembled an international team of leaders with decades of experience with a desire to come back home and bring focus to those in need in local communities. The Network offers long-term programs to people seeking a new season in life and response teams designed to address community issues and emergency response. The Network provides intentional volunteer opportunities for people wanting to provide support within their programs and opportunities to engage via Response Teams.
